    If you keep up with Pokémon Trading Card Game , then you've probably noticed a distinct lack of Kadabra cards for the past couple decades. Abra and Alakazam have continued to show up occasionally, but the evolutionary step in-between has been missing. It has to do with Kadabra's original name in Japanese: Yungerer, a reference to illusionist Uri Geller. Even the spoon the Pokémon holds is a reference to Geller's spoon-bending act. Nintendo and Game Freak had not sought Geller's permission for any of this though, so Geller ultimately sued Nintendo over it and asked that creation of Kadabra...
