Fire Emblem's Byleth is the next Smash Ultimate DLC fighter, not Waluigi

2 days ago - By Destructoid

Today is a pretty big day for Smash Ultimate reveals, as Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses makes his way to the Super Smash Bros. stage. Both genders will be available, as will sacred relic weapons from the Fire Emblem series (the video makes fun of the fact that there's too many swordsmen already).
Given that Terry was spoiled previously by an erroneous site listing, this one comes as a surprise. Sakurai even said this one was made with "utmost secrecy," and it will "take a little time" until it arrives. No "it's available tonight" DLC today folks. January 28 is the planned...

The time has come for Sakurai to give us a fully-fledged, 35-minute long Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct, where he will reveal the new DLC fighter: the fifth and final part of the first Fighter's Pass. There's more DLC already confirmed, but given that this is the end of the line for the initial salvo of add-ons, we could get a tease for a second pass today.
That last bit is speculation, of course. But if history is anything to go by, Sakurai will walk us through this next fighter step by step, showcasing all of their moves in the process, as well as fluff like costumes and taunts. We...

Devil May Cry 3 will get Devil May Cry 4 and 5's 'Style Switching' mechanic, which is a pretty big deal

In roughly an hour we'll learn what the next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC character is. Given that Capcom told fans to look out for Devil May Cry -related Switch news today, it seemed like Dante was going to make the cut. But now that the publisher has revealed this fairly big news story regarding the upcoming Devil May Cry 3 Switch port, I'm not so sure.
As a reminder, Devil May Cry 3 is coming to Switch soon, and Capcom is switching a few things up: in this case, for the better. The third iteration was praise for heralding in the "style system," a mechanic that allows Dante to swap...

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Unlikely to Add Dante as DLC Now

2 days ago - By Game Rant

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has pleased fans with a steady stream of content which has included some awesome fighters. There has been plenty of speculation about which fighter would be included as the final character in the Ultimate Fighter's pass. Many had a prediction that Dante from Devil May Cry would make an appearance, however, the evidence that supported this theory has quickly disappeared. Super Smash Bros. has managed to include an incredible amount of fighters from the archives of Nintendo and from further afield games. Dante has been an acclaimed character in the Devil May Cry...
