    The studio that brought us several of the Dead Rising franchise titles and most recently Puzzle Fighter was expectantly shut down earlier today. Aidan Scanlan, now Former Design Director at Capcom Vancouver, tweeted out the news around 1:30pm EST today.
    There had been some rumblings earlier today that the studios projects were being cancelled, including the recently announced Dead Rising 5 revival. Hopefully all the folks there can find a soft spot to land, as studios consolidating and closing has been happening a lot the last several years.

    Update : Capcom has confirmed to GameDaily that all development has suspended at Capcom Vancouver and the studio has effectively closed. Capcom is moving their development primarily to Japan.

    You probably expected this after news broke out earlier that Capcom has suspended all projects and development at the studio, but it seems like the publisher will be closing down Capcom Vancouver, the Canadian subsidiary primarily known for its work on the Dead Rising series.
    In a statement made to Kotaku, Capcom said that the decision was made after an internal review, and the decision to focus the development of its major titles in Japan. Unfortunately, 158 people-a staggering number-will be losing their jobs as a result of this shutdown.

    Capcom Vancouver, the studio behind the popular Dead Rising franchise is officially joining the land of the dead.
    Capcom announced that their Vancouver based studio will be shutting down and that all projects from the studio will be terminated. A Capcom representative told Kotaku that they reviewed the titles in development and “decided to cancel the development projects,” and will “concentrate on development of major titles in Japan.”
