10 days ago - By Gaming Bolt

During its reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 , Treyarch also showcased the new Zombies maps that would be coming. The onus was on introducing a new cast of zombie killer and even more time-hopping scenarios. More importantly, there will be three maps upon release. Check out the trailers below.
Nine takes the new team to ancient Rome where they battle against a cult turning slaves into zombies; Voyage of Despair takes place on the Titanic and sees the same crew in a heist gone wrong; and Blood of the Dead sees the classic Zombies team return in a remaster of Black Ops 2's Mob of the Dead...

“We'd be lying if we said we don't play other games” - Treyarch opens up about Black Ops 4's influences

Call of Duty used to be a series that was at the front of the pack when it comes to innovations, but Black Ops 4 seems to be playing catch-up.
During a roundtable interview at tonight's reveal, I asked Treyarch's developers if they were consciously taking things from other games or not, and if they thought this borrowing could leave a stain on the studio's legacy as an innovator.
“How we look at it is, we are crafting our own experience with Black Ops 4,” producer Miles Leslie said. “We're fans of all games, right? We'd be lying if we said we don't play other games. We draw inspiration...

Black Ops 4: “We were never planning on making a traditional campaign,” says Treyarch

10 days ago - By Attack of the Fanboy

Despite rumors that a single player campaign was scrapped for Black Ops 4 due to development trouble at Treyarch, apparently the developer was never planning on a making one for this game.
According to Yale Miller of Treyarch, “We were never planning on making a tradtional campaign,” the Senior Producer at the developer told us in an interview.
“As soon as Black Ops 3 was done, we knew we wanted to do something different,” says Miller. That something different is the new Blackout Battle Royale mode that will launch with the game.
“It's really about making sure that we're bringing something...

Black Ops 4 Blackout Mode Will Not Feature Jetpacks or Wallrunning

10 days ago - By Attack of the Fanboy

The new Blackout Battle Royale mode for the upcoming Call of Duty game will not feature wall-running, thrust jumping, or any of the enhanced mobility features from some of the recent Call of Duty games.
According to Treyarch's Matt Scronce, the movement systems in the Blackout mode will be the same as the ones that you find in Black Ops 4's competitive multiplayer.
On Blackout, we'll get into the specifics later, but it's gonna be the same movement set that you get throughout the game. So very fast, fluid, uh... no thrust jump, no wall-running.”
Right now, Blackout is the one thing that...

Black Ops 4 Still Has A lot for Single Player Fans, According to Treyarch

10 days ago - By Attack of the Fanboy

While it had been rumored for a while that Black Ops 4 would not feature a traditional single player campaign, Treyarch isn't worried that singe player fans will feel left out.
According to Yale Miller, Senior Producer at Treyarch, “We'll still have opportunities for those players that want to play solo. They're still gonna be fun. Being able to play solo in Zombies, having difficulty modes in Zombies, I think will be a huge part of that.”
“There is a massive narrative across Zombies. Especially now that you have Nine and Voyage of the Dead...those are tied together narratives. You're...

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 hands on - a more tactical, clever take on the twitchy shooter

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 hands on - a more tactical, clever take on the twitchy shooter

    10 days ago - By VG 247

While today's Call of Duty headlines will be dominated by talk about the loss of the single-player campaign and the introduction of a battle royale mode , it turns out Black Ops 4's multiplayer matches are the best they've been for a long time.
To give you some context on my own personal history with COD, I fell out of love with the series a couple of games back. I played the hell out of the multiplayer for Modern Warfare and its sequel, and I did the same for the very first Black Ops. Recently, however, I've just played COD for the single-player.
Infinite Warfare had a solid campaign with...

  • Black Ops 4 Specialists: “Do Your ***ing Job,” says Treyarch

Black Ops 4 Specialists: “Do Your ***ing Job,” says Treyarch

10 days ago - By Attack of the Fanboy

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 multiplayer is something entirely new for the franchise. While Specialists are nothing new, the way that they are used this year is much different than the previous Black Ops game.
In something that feels almost like Overwatch in the way that each character has a specific role to play on the battlefield, the developers at Treyarch expect that players will know the roles that they must play when selecting a certain character.
In a recent interview with Matt Scronce and Yale Miller from the studio, we were explained how Treyarch sees the specialist system in the...
